Service-Centric Brokering for Dynamic e-business Communities
Overview
This project focuses on the development of protocols for brokering-based agent communities in e-business. The global market is driving e-business to become service-centric, offering highly modular e-services that can be flexibly and dynamically composed into rapidly deployable e-Businesses (See the The Internet Enterprise: Composable e-Service Project). This trend is giving rise to a new set of requirements for negotiation-based, autonomous, and intelligent computing. It is, therefore, expected that in the near future, e-Services will be designed and implemented as software agents. In preparation for the proliferation of agent-based e-business, we are developing a suite of protocols for self-organizing agent communities. The protocols are based on a three-tier architecture of agents, brokers, and superbrokers. We have implemented a simple protoype that captures some of these ideas, using Java and JKQML. We are currently working on superbrokering protocol for E2E communication and extending UDDI using our community concepts. Services offered by devices can also be brokered using these communities.People
